Collecting you from Greenock cruise terminal, our journey begins with a drive through Glasgow city centre towards our first stop at the Kelpies.
Located on the Forth and Clyde canal near Falkirk, the Kelpies are the world's largest equine sculptures. Standing at 30 metres (95ft) tall, weighing over 300 tons each and designed by Scottish sculptor Andy Scott. They are a tribute to the heavy horses that powered Scotland's industry and agriculture in the 18th and 19th centuries. The name "Kelpies" also refers to the mythical shape-shifting water spirits from Scottish folklore, which often appeared as horses.
Our next visit is to Stirling Castle atop its volcanic crag, a symbol of Scotland's turbulent past and royal legacy. Here, amid the ancient stone walls and grand courtyards, you'll uncover tales of Kings, Queens, and legendary battles that have shaped the nation's history.
With origins dating back to the early medieval period, the first recorded use of the site as a royal residence and fortress was back in the 12th century. Significant construction and development of the castle took place particularly under the reigns of James IV, James V, and James VI, who transformed it into a major royal palace. As you explore the castle, you will begin to see these later medieval and Renaissance expansions.
After the wonders of Stirling Castle it's time for lunch. We will make a reservation for you at a nearby eatery.
Following lunch, we head in the direction of Loch Lomond and the Scottish Highlands. We make our drive through Scotland’s’ First National Park – The Trossachs. This breathtaking region of rolling hills and serene lochs inspired some of the works of the famous novelist Sir Walter Scott. The region's dramatic landscapes and rich history provided the perfect backdrop for the writer's story on the adventures of the titular Scottish folk hero, Rob Roy.
Our final stop will be the Highland village of Luss on Loch Lomond. Located on the western side of the loch, there has been a settlement in this location for centuries. Here you can walk the charming streets, pick up a few souvenirs and enjoy the views from the ‘Bonnie Banks’.
We’ll then make our way back to Greenock cruise terminal in plenty of time before your ship departs.

Clothing
Glasgow comedian and actor Sir Billy Connolly famously said of Scotland that “there’s no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes”.
It’s true that no matter what the season, the weather in Scotland can be “changeable”. We suggest that you bring suitable clothing for all conditions, including a waterproof jacket and plenty of layers, particularly in the winter months.
Ensure you bring shoes that are suitable for short walks on rough or uneven terrain and, if you plan to do any hiking, we recommend appropriate boots.
The infamous Scottish midge
In the spring/summer months, we highly recommend you pack insect repellent to keep midges away, especially in the highlands. While bites aren’t painful at the time, they can become itchy and uncomfortable afterwards.
Cash or card?
Although all attractions we visit accept card payments, we would also recommend bringing cash with you. And…
Don’t forget a camera to snap the fantastic memories you’ll make on tour with us!
